Chad Johnson to the Eagles

Right now it’s just me trying to spread a rumor that I hope to catch fire. As I was watching Sportscenter this afternoon, scrolling on the bottom I see Drew Rosenhaus has made an announcement that his client Chad Johnson has not said privately that he will sit out the 2008 season because of a betrayal by head coach Marvin Lewis.

Weather he said this or not, the media will keep pushing this button until it gets hotter and hotter. You know what I want? I want the Eagles to heavily pursue this issue and engage in trade talks with Cincinnati for Johnson. I know some or even many of you will say "haven't you learned anything from the whole T.O. saga?"

The only thing that the two have in common is super scum agent Drew Rosenhaus, other than that Ocho Cinco and T.O. are two different entities. Chad Johnson has never thrown any of his teammates under the bus.

Even though the Patriots didn't win the Superbowl, the Eagles need to take a page out of their playbook and get some big name wide receivers in there. If they want to keep McNabb and make a true run for the Superbowl, a trade like this needs to happen. The Eagles already have the defense; a great quarterback in McNabb and an all purpose big threat running back in Brian Westbrook. Now just get the final missing pieces in talented big name wide receiver or two and you can do exactly what the Patriots did or better, win the whole enchilada. This must happen. Do it, Do it now (in an Arnold Schwarzennegger voice).
